These are places where both adventurers and peace-seekers will have work and leisure at their disposal. Plus, they’ll be daily reminders that becoming a digital nomad was the right career choice. 

If you’re a digital nomad who enjoys scenic towns, winter sports, and working with a mountain view (who doesn’t?!), then the following places might give you an idea or two about your next destination. 

Hood River, OR, United States

Even though it’s just an hour from Portland, something tells us you won’t want to leave Hood River. 

Need a long-awaited nature break? Have fun hiking and enjoying the raw, natural beauty of Punchbowl Falls Nature Park and Horsetail Falls. Occasional wine drinkers and oenophiles alike will have a savory experience at Hood River’s welcoming wineries and vineyards.

Camping lovers, take note: aside from cosy lodges and sumptuous cliff-side accommodations, you’ll find RV parks with access to the internet and amenities, as well as tranquil campgrounds for a much-needed change of scenery. Would you like to camp somewhere nestled between Mount Hood and Lost Lake, or would you prefer exploring waterfalls at Columbia River Highway? Pick your view.

Bad Wimpfen, Germany

Bad Wimpfen will make you feel like you’re in the middle ages. The good part of it, of course. 

This family-friendly small community located in the district of Heilbronn, north of Baden-Württemberg, cradles 7000 inhabitants. There, you’ll walk through down-home cobblestone streets and be surrounded by charming half-timbered houses with colorful flowers on balconies. You’ll be face-to-face with the heart of Germany, which you once only saw in History books and period dramas. 

If you’re game to climb some 200 steps, you can reach the very top of Blue Tower and see this picturesque town from above. Will it be worth it? You bet.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France

“Chamonix” or “Cham’” for the acquainted, this is a commune in the French Alps known as the perfect place for ski holidays. It doesn’t matter when you visit, though--the place is beautiful year-round. 

Regardless of where you’re standing in town, look up from anywhere, and you’ll see icy mountains over 15,000 ft towering above you.
